First Trimester Woes
I don't care what anybody says, the first trimester of pregnancy is not fun. Yes, it's exciting and all that, but physically it is hard work. I am constantly either hungry, nauseous or completely depleted of energy. These things put me in somewhat of a bad mood and probably make me not much fun to be around. Not to mention the fact that all I want is carbs so the whole "I'm gonna eat SO healthy and only gain the recommended amount of weight!" thing has pretty much gone right out the window. Ok. End. Rant.
I think the real reason the first trimester is so hard is because I feel like I can't bond with my child yet. Sure, the nausea and exhaustion are...well...exhausting, but the hardest part is having all these symptoms and no real baby bump. The baby isn't moving yet and I don't really feel pregnant. I long to feel something: a bond, a bump, something. But right now, it seems like I'm just tired, out of shape and ALWAYS hungry! I am so looking forward to the second trimester when I'll start to show, can share the news with everyone and really focus on bonding and getting ready for the little one's arrival. I don't want to wish this pregnancy away because I know I'll look back on this time and realize that it flew by, but sometimes you just need to get some things off your chest!
Anybody have advice for a first time mom in her first trimester? Will it really get easier? Is there a light at the end (or middle) of this tunnel?
I hope you all have a wonderful nausea-free weekend!
